This summer has been flying by – I cannot believe that we are already in July! Seems like I’ve been on the go, or working so much of the summer already and I have not had a lot of time to myself.
The good thing about life is that when you do not like the way something is going, you have the ability to change it. That’s what I am doing with the remainder of the summer – I am going to change the way I am doing things so that I can focus on myself.
If you are in the same boat as I am, I would love for you to join me on this journey! Here are four ways to focus on yourself this summer:
Schedule A Massage
If you are in need of a way to destress after the hectic start of the summer, consider a massage. According to The Mayo Clinic, massage is a great way to take charge of your health and wellness. They explain, “There are many different types of massage, including these common types:
- Swedish massage. This is a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help relax and energize you.
- Deep massage. This massage technique uses slower, more-forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries.
- Sports massage. This is similar to Swedish massage, but it’s geared toward people involved in sport activities to help prevent or treat injuries.
- Trigger point massage. This massage focuses on areas of tight muscle fibers that can form in your muscles after injuries or overuse.
Beyond the benefits for specific conditions or diseases, some people enjoy massages because they often produces feelings of caring, comfort and connection.”
Delegate Work Tasks
Delegating work tasks is essential when it comes to focusing on yourself. If you run your own blog or even a business, you know how time consuming it can be.
You are forced to do most things yourself and it’s not just a 9-5, it’s a 24 hour job. That’s why outsourcing and delegating work tasks is so very important when it comes to reducing your load and allowing you to focus on yourself + goals this summer. For example, if you struggle with SEO, or if it takes up a lot of your time, try hiring SEO New Jersey company, NJ SEO. As a local, family-owned business, they offer you all digital marketing services such as search engine optimization, google ads PPC, web design and IT, social media marketing, and more.
When it comes to SEO, NJ SEO has the approach of actionable and transparent reporting and results, unlike many other SEO companies that sell hype, but lack substance. Their number one goal is to help you grow your business in the online world and they are doing a great job at doing so for their clients. They have many positive reviews and truly walk the walk, instead of just talking the talk. In addition, they offer free consultations, open communication (email, phone, text, etc.), no long-term contracts, and straight-forward service. Hiring them to take over your search engine optimization, as well as hiring any other professional to help you delegate some of your work tasks will truly allow yourself to focus on yourself, while improving your blog or business at the same time.
Take A Minute To Yourself Each Morning
This was recommended by a friend who was told this by her doctor. Her doctor said that before she even touches her phone, grab a cup of water (preferably with lemon), and go sit outside. Grab a book, a notepad, or just yourself and sit outside to soak up that morning sun. After you finish your water, feel free to go about your day as you normally would, but take advantage of that little bit of time and really get your day started the right way.
If you need to change things up in your normal routine, do it! Just do not touch your phone before taking your 3-10+ minutes of time to yourself.
Surround Yourself With Positivity
Last but not least, surround yourself with positivity! Think positive thoughts, do things that will enhance your happiness, and most importantly, surround yourself with people who want the same. This is important because even if you think positively, when you surround yourself with others who spread negative thoughts and feelings, you are bound to fall into the trap. Surround yourself with those who want to dwell in positivity, as well.
